Nondirective Play-Based Therapy
Join us for 7 hours focused on nondirective, client-led interventions that empower clients to lead the therapeutic process. We will explore a variety of theories that provide a frame for practice. Participants will learn practical strategies for identifying, engaging, and facilitating therapeutic processes. Come prepared to practice playing in therapeutic ways!
Learning Commitments
1. Learn about several theories of play therapy conducive to nondirective play-based interventions.
2. Discuss misconceptions and barriers to implementation of nondirective play-based interventions.
3. Observe & practice nondirective play-based interventions.
4. Analyze how nondirective play-based interventions impact provider and client positionality.
5. Develop treatment goals and identify treatment progress associated with nondirective interventions.
