Announcement Regarding APT-Approved Hours.
Relating Play was originally established in 2011 to promote the power of play therapy in Montana & surrounding areas. Since that time, we became an APT-Approved provider and hosted countless workshops. Over 80% of credentialed play therapists in Montana have received training or supervision with us and I am grateful to each of you that showed up along the way.
It's all of those participants that make this next part so difficult.
As of 09-01-20, I have decided to no longer offer APT-Approved training. The Association for Play Therapy (APT) has made extensive revisions to the credentials available to play therapists. While we believe in the mission of APT, it is no longer possible to offer workshops and ensure that you will receive APT credit for them. We won't get into all of the revisions here, but encourage you to look at them closely to be sure they are aligned with your practice.
I do not take these decisions lightly. I recognize this shift seriously limits access to APT-Approved CE in Montana, and for that I am very sorry. I am hopeful that APT will explore how to make the credential accessible to clinicians across geographies, backgrounds, and practice settings. In the meantime, I will continue to do what I know and love: offer workshops in the field of mental health that promote connection and professionalism. I'd be honored if you consider joining me & future offerings will be listed here.
Sincerely,
