Techniques for Counseling Kids on Telehealth

The pandemic has put children at higher risk of mental health concerns and treatment is more important than ever. Join a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor to gain some effective tools for engaging clients ages 3-10. Participants will learn 10 techniques that can be used across technology options (from telephone-only to screen-sharing). We will demonstrate how to incorporate props and toys into virtual sessions and collaborate on common obstacles to providing care.

Participants will be able to list 10 play-based interventions that can be used in telehealth.

Participants will be able to construct an inexpensive play therapy kit accessible to clients from home.

Participants will be able to recognize common barriers to effective telehealth treatment with children & implement strategies to address these barriers.
Meets Montana Board of Behavioral Health Requirements for LCSW & LCPC CE hours. Does not qualify for CE hours through APT.
